10.18.02

come on, fate

Today's Horoscope:
It is time to put your dancing shoes on, dear Gemini, because the next few weeks are going to be filled with a great deal of social activity that you won't want to miss. Today is the start of a planetary transit in which you will experience a greater boost of energy in the department of love and romance. Connect with others for events and gatherings that make you feel alive and young.

I am so excited for this weekend. It's Girls Nite Out in NYC. The evening starts at 5 pm with dinner at Virgils. With a party of 15 ladies, this is sure to be fun. Then we're off to see the Vagina Monolgues. Again, guaranteed a good time. Finally, we're off clubbing to CODA.

It feels good to have my legs back and on the prowl in the Big Apple!

anticipation

The stars were not in alignment yesterday. I did not see Mike.

I called twice, well really three times if you count the time I hung up on the voice mail. The first mesage was hopeful and cheery. "It's 8:30 and I just got out of physical therapy. Give me a call when you get back into Jersey and maybe we can actually pull this off."

I watched the clock while I laid on my couch watching tv.

9:00 - still plenty of time. We could grab a hot chocolate and a cookie at one of those trendy coffee stores on Main Street.

9:15 - ok, we could still meet. Maybe I'll just stay up at my parent's house rather than drive all the way home.

9:30 - crap. What's the deal?

10:00 - Is my phone working?

10:30 - hang up on his voice mail

11:00 - "Well, I'm getting into bed. Too bad it wasn't in the stars for us getting together tonight. I was really looking forward to it. I hope everything is ok and you're not stuck into something ridiculous. Later."

Damn. Damn. Damn.

Of course I want him now because I can't seem to get him. If he was camping out on my front stoop for three weeks to see me, I would probably brush him off. But this whole anticipation of actually breathing the same air as him is turning me on.
