the honeymoon's over
damn knee!
i hurt it this weekend snowboarding in vermont with t. it was the perfect riding weather. vermont was just blanketed with a bunch of fresh snow. unfortunately, i never had experience riding in real powder. it was a lot harder than it looked. the mushy snow mounds made my legs and ankles do a lot of extra work. i wound up taking one spill that was one too many. i managed to do something to my right knee. i twisted it slightly. if i had been skiing, i would have done a lot more damage since both legs would be flailing in their own directions. since both feet were strapped in, they would at least go in the same directions.
anyway, i hurt my knee enough to end my riding for the weekend. i had to turn in my lift ticket for sunday since it was no use to me.
so, the honeymoon is over.
my innocent statement on the ride home caused some internal processing for t. i didn't mean for that to happen. i just meant that the guards are down, the real person is exposed. all of the polite courting is gone and now we have to deal with the little nuances (or annoyances) that make each of us unique. so he hates my magnets, he's not a morning person... we'll have to deal.
