precious delcaration

New meanings to the words I feed upon
Wake within my veins elements of freedom
Can't break now I've been living for this
Won't break now I'm cleansed with hopefulness
Precious declaration says
Yours is yours and mine you leave alone now
Precious declaration says
I believe all hope is dead no longer

'precious declaration' - collective soul

hope only makes herself known when you're in your darkest hour.

she has the tiniest glimmer - like a firefly. when the world around you is bright, shiny and alive, that little firefly flickers around unnoticed. only when you feel your world is crashing around you, does she allow herself to be seen.

at first it's just a speck of light. but as you look closer and your eyes get used to the light, it becomes more intense. blinding. you wonder how you couldn't have noticed it before.

for a long time i was lost in that darkness. feeling my way with tremblng hands. each step in hesitation, scared of what i might find, terrified of what i might not find.

48 hours have made all the difference.

that little firefly is leading me through a trail lined with candlelight. each step cautious, but each one more confident than the last.

i don't know where this path is talking me. it may lead me through open fields or narrow mountain crosses. i may have to stop and ask for directions or double back to find an easier route. there may be ghosts who try to avert my attention. but it is my intention to keep walking. maybe i'll emerge among the floodlights of rigley field.

And if the darkness is to keep us apart
And if the daylight feels like it's a long way off
And if your glass heart should crack
And for a second you turn back
Oh no, be strong
